Privacy & your information
Garden Together is operated by Tony C Smith. For questions about your information, a copy of your data or closing your account, email contact@tonycsmith.com. Please never email your password.
Your account and saves
We store your account email, a protected password hash, sign-in sessions and the garden plans, growing records and photographs you save to your account. Your garden is private unless you choose to share it with the community. Shared gardens can be visited by other signed-in members; your private notes and photographs stay private.
Your browser also keeps device saves. Clearing browser data can remove those copies, so save to your account and download a backup first. Account saves and backups are stored separately from your GrowMore CookMore account.
Signing in and account emails
A necessary session cookie keeps you signed in. Temporary verification and reset codes establish access to your email address. If transactional email is enabled, our delivery provider receives your email address and the account message so it can send the link. This beta uses Resend for that delivery. Account emails are for verification and recovery, not a marketing subscription.
Keeping your garden safe
We keep backup copies to recover from failures. Closing an account may therefore take additional time to remove older backup copies; contact Tony to discuss your request. Avoid putting sensitive personal information into a garden name or a garden you make public.
Other services
If you choose automatic photo or plan recognition, the image and its outlined plot are sent to OpenAI to suggest a layout. Online plant-variety research sends your search words to OpenAI and can look up reference sources. You can use manual tracing and the existing plant catalogue without these requests. Avoid including people or other private details in a photo you submit for recognition.
Optional features can contact other services: for example, town search and weather use Open-Meteo, and community video or Discord features use their respective providers when you open them. Those features have their own availability and privacy information. Community video and voice rooms remain limited to invited testers during the public beta.
The free beta
No payment card is collected for the beta and it does not automatically become a paid subscription. We will explain any paid offer before asking you to choose it.
